Awkwafina
Awkwafina, an American singer and actress began with a series of rap songs that dealt with issues of sexuality and race. Her career expanded to Hollywood after she released an album of raps. Nora Lum began her musical career as a musician on the trumpet. She was born in Forest Hills Queens, she was the child of Chinese immigrants as well as Koreans. Her classical, jazz and hip-hop training began as she was a teenager. While at school, she studied journalism as well as women's studies, and was taking classes in Mandarin in Beijing during a brief time. It wasn't until she graduated that she begin to concentrate on music. Her song My Vag, a response track to Mickey Avalon's My Dick gained viral popularity on the Internet in 2012. The track was later included in her debut album Yellow Ranger released in 2014. Other viral hits included the queef, a body positive song and the winking NYC Bitche$ hometown tour. The latter song was linked directly with another Awkwafina project NYC Travel Guide, which was published in the year 2015. A musician and author was as her credentials, she determined to pursue a third endeavor actor. Alongside early shows such as Girl Code, Tawk and Bad Rap she also appeared in movies such as Neighbors to Storks. In the year 2018, she was offered an array of noteworthy roles including Dude Ocean 8 and Crazy Rich Asians. The EP was released in June.
